EATOC Club History

Our club was conceived at a Tiger Open Day when David Buckeldee & Brian Duddridge were asking if an East Anglia club was available for them to join. At that time no such club existed. So between them they decided to form the club at the beginning of January 2000. The club is run for its members, who are just a group of enthusiastic Tiger builders and owners.

The idea was to provide a club that would allow Tiger owners to have a means of communicating with like-minded people. A membership fee of £5.00 was introduced to cover basic administration costs. However it was not practicable for all members to be able to meet up on a monthly basis, therefore, a newsletter was introduced. It soon became apparent that the subscription cost was not going to cover the production of a monthly newsletter, when paper, ink, envelopes and postage were costed. Therefore the fee was increased to £6.00 and the newsletter is not produced for the months of Oct, Nov, Jan, & February; in reality due to demand we always seem to produce an October version. During 2004 the fees were increased again, this time to £10.00; the reason was to ensure we covered our operation costs and to allow us to build funds for the purchase of equipment like a quick erect EATOC Gazebo, and items like an EATOC flag, these having now been purchased will be used to raise the profile of the club at shows and major events that we attend.

Selected back issues of the newsletter are available here By becoming a member you will gain access to the entire newsletter archives.

We try to meet up at regular intervals, spreading the venues around East Anglia. Due to the large area that the club covers, all of the members are encouraged to let the Events Secretary know about suitable venues for meetings in their local area. The club will then try to set up a meeting via E-mail and/or our newsletter. This could result in there being more than one meeting taking place on the same day, but in different locations. At these meetings any subject can be discussed and often these have little do with the club.

The club is very active, and growing all the time, so why not join our bunch of merry men (and women). Just complete the application form and send it to the Treasurer with a cheque made payable to E.A.T.O.C for £12. During the processing of your membership application you will be phoned or e-mailed with your membership number and password for access to the members area of this site, A welcome pack will follow by post, this will give details and costs of the goodies below.

We have arranged component discounts with various suppliers, discounted insurance and we can supply printed "T" shirts, badges, Caps, EATOC stickers, embroidered polo shirts and Tiger key rings with "If Found Please Telephone" printed on the back. Be a member and join in the fun!

So if you would like to join us, you are welcome, However EATOC has been formed as an interactive club, this means that all members are encouraged to be involved wherever possible. The news letter is very special, it is written by its members, if you join it will be your news letter and we will ask you to write about your experiences when possible. The meetings we hold are also organised by the members through the committee. In other words, if you join it will be your club, so get involved and have a great time, it could possibly be the best £10.00 you will ever spend!
